Michael Newsom joined the Dallas office of Miller/Shandwick Technologies as account supervisor. Newsom arrived from Alcatel Network Systems in Richardson, where he was manager of media relations for the firm’s North American operations.
Saunders-Ream Advertising, Dallas, added two new staff members: production manager Frances Crosby-Montoya and graphic artist Joshua Thuma. Crosby-Montoya formerly was a print broker and production manager with several Dallas firms, while Thuma was a designer with The Insite Group in Bryan.
M/C/C, Dallas, hired seven new staffers: public relations writer Jade Boyd, a former newspaper and wire service reporter; account planner Nikki Burks, previously an assistant account executive with Temerlin McClain in Irving; account manager Alan Cooper, recently an account executive at Ogilvy & Mather; assistant account manager Kimberly Gutowski, from Brinker Communications; art directors Maureen Steffes from TFA Communications in Dallas and Mike Tarter of Maloney Strategic Communications; and copywriter Steve Stevenson, formerly of Hadeler Sullivan & Law, Dallas.
Stone Core Films designated Cathy Brittingham Southwest sales representative for director Norry Niven, one of the principals at the Dallas company.
Lark Technologies, Houston, appointed Alan Carter vice president of worldwide sales and marketing. Carter joins Lark with 10 years of sales and sales management experience.
John Bowie was hired as senior graphic designer at NourzAds in Elgin. Bowie has attended the Art Institute of Atlanta and the University of Texas at Austin.
Henley Healthcare’s board of directors in Sugar Land assigned Dan Lavelle, vice president of international sales and marketing, to a director’s position.
Publicis, Dallas, made a series of promotions and new hires recently. Joining Publicis are senior account executive Kami Katz; assistant account executives Stacey Hennigan, Dana Ricks and Sarah Howard; and assistant media planners Kelly Barry and Kara Walsh. New titles go to group media director Andy Rowe, broadcast supervisor Julie Howell, senior broadcast negotiators Melissa Gardner, Jacque Carpenter and Julie Pangburn, senior media planners Raymond Douglas and Brian McClain and media planners Nancy Euston and Chris Knapp.
Cristy Smith joined Blackwood Martin/CJRW as account executive on the Tyson Foods business. Smith spent the past two years at the Walton Arts Center in Fayetteville, and also was an account executive for The Forbes Group, Dallas. In addition, the Fayetteville shop hired proofreader Rima Peterson, a former newspaper writer and freelance translator.
Prime Marketing in Pineville added Frances LaRue Waxley as a director. She will serve as regional manager of the company’s Leisure Shoppers division.
