Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/Euro RSCG has named four executives partners of the New York-based agency and one new partner of its integrated marketing unit, Fuel North America. MVBMS now has 25 partners at the agency, with four additional partners who manage Fuel N.A. Led by CEO Ron Berger, each of the partners is involved in client business; they also share management responsibilities at MVBMS. The new partners are Renee Cassidy, 42, chief financial officer, who has overseen the agency’s finance division since 1992; Andrew Deitchman, 30, director of client services of Fuel N.A.; Tom Meloth, 42, broadcast producer, who has helped create TV spots for MVBMS clients Volvo and Intel since 1997; James Overall, 46, copywriter, who has done work for MVBMS clients Volvo and New Balance; and Marty Susz, 44, who has been senior account director since 1999, handling Intel’s consumer and business- to-business advertising.
Matt DeSimone, a 24-year veteran of Grey Worldwide in New York, has been promoted from senior vice president, account management to executive vice president, account management, a new position. DeSimone, 50, joined Grey in 1976 after spending three years in Benton & Bowles’ media department.

Nancy Katz has risen to partner/ director of client services; she was previously partner/group account director at the New York-based agency. Jon Shrair was elevated to group account di- rector; he formerly served as account director. Michael Stoopack was promoted to account director; he most recently worked as account supervisor.
The New York American Marketing Association has promoted Denise McDevitt to associate director. She previously was director, New York AMA awards programs, responsible for managing the EFFIE Awards at the New York-based organization. The New York AMA has also made known the officers for its new board of directors for 2001. Lou Moskowitz has been elected president of the board; he is president of Results Thru Research. Eric Glerum is president elect; he is vice president of marketing at Sure Air Ltd. Global branding consultancy FutureBrand, based in New York, has named Duane Knapp executive director, giving him broad responsibilities for brand consulting and new-business development in the retail, food-service and hos- pitality sectors. He will be based in San Francisco. Knapp currently serves as president at BrandStrategy, based in Seattle, and will continue in that capacity, along with his new position.
NCI Network, New York, a division of Nelson Communications, has promoted two staffers within its E-Lab Multimedia and Graphics Corp. of America subsidiaries. Dina Nicholaou has been elevated to vice president, director of art services, E-Lab and GCA; she most recently served as studio manager at GCA. Michael Zuzzolo has risen to vice president, director of art services, GCA; he was previ- ously vice president, general manager of GCA.
Heitner Weiss in New York has named Zander Riese media director. He most recently served as marketing consultant at Young & Rubicam’s Impiric in New York.
Lanmark Group in Eatontown has hired two new staffers. Marita McGee has joined the agency as senior account executive; she previously worked at Hann & DePalmer, where she handled the Bristol-Myers Squibb national account. Kathleen Sheehan has arrived as traffic manager; she most recently served as traffic coordinator at Doner Direct in Baltimore.
R&J Integrated Marketing Communications has named John Murphy an advertising account manager, responsible for managing some of the agency’s major medical and high-tech accounts. Prior to joining the Parsippany-based shop, he managed the promotional projects for all Seagram’s brands, including Absolut Vodka, Captain Morgan and Chivas Regal, at Upshot NY, formerly Siebel Marketing Group, in New York.
