Never mind the sheer size and fearsome features that enabled King Kong to terrorize New York. The Energizer Bunny makes a monkey out of the gorilla in a spot from Chiat/Day, Venice, Calif., which will air this week. The bunny doesn’t do it without help, though. His ally is the Empire State Building, tall enough to make even Kong grapple for footing in open windows. He finally reaches the top and zeroes in on the rabbit – who’s out for a rooftop stroll – but a tenant slams a window down on the beast’s foot. That knocks Kong from his perch, providing one more pardon for the bunny in what may be the first example of a rabbit saved by a lucky gorilla’s foot.
