Metacafe Hires Former Yahoo! Exec

NEW YORK Video entertainment site Metacafe has hired former Yahoo! and Disney executive Scott Bushman as vp, business development.

Bushman is responsible for cultivating relationships with global media companies, overseeing content licensing deals and determining other viable growth opportunities for the company within the short-form video arena.

“Scott brings valuable experience to this role and will be instrumental in solidifying Metacafe’s position as a global media company leading the next phase of online video,” said Erick Hachenburg, CEO of Metacafe.

“Online video entertainment has proved a cultural phenomenon in the past couple of years and it’s now poised to become a lucrative media business,” added Bushman.

Bushman has over 15 years experience in media and entertainment. This includes his most recent position of senior director, business development, global publisher solutions at Yahoo!, where he developed, negotiated and implemented strategic distribution partnerships with major players in entertainment, sports, music, TV, gaming and social networking. He also founded and served as vp, gm of EXPN, an online action sports extension of Disney’s ESPN.

Metacafe specializes in short-form original content. It is headquartered in Palo Alto, Calif.
