McCann SW to Big D

McCann-Erickson Southwest has named Mark Denesuk executive vice president and general manager of the region as it moves to consolidate its power in the Dallas office.
Denesuk, 37, was formerly senior partner and group account director at Ogilvy & Mather in Dallas, where he handled the telecommunications group of client GTE Corp. Before that, Denesuk worked on Ogilvy’s Pepsico International and Kentucky Fried Chicken International accounts in New York.
“It was an opportunity to grow my career and actually be able to stay in the Southwest,” said Denesuk of the appointment. “I really like the McCann way of doing business–it’s all about results and making things happen for the client’s business.”
Tony Pace, who previously headed McCann locally, is returning to New York headquarters to provide senior leadership on several multinational accounts.
Denesuk has been charged with aggressively re-cruiting new clients for McCann-Erickson Southwest, which will now be headquartered in Dallas. The agency is in the process of moving department heads from its Houston location to Dallas.
The company’s Houston facility will continue to be operated as a full-service agency, serving clients including Exxon Co., Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits and the University of Houston.
“Eight out of the 10 top regional agencies are in Dallas. We want to concentrate our forces here and be a much stronger player in the region,” Denesuk said.
