KSR Absorbs Flywheel Branding

ATLANTA In a bid to boost its service offering, Kelley Swofford Roy said it has acquired Flywheel Branding.

Flywheel’s president, Adam Kustin, becomes president of KSR and has been given a partnership in the merged agency.

Kustin, 37, replaces Susan Kelley, who moves to chairman and chief executive officer. William Roy retains his title as senior partner.

KSR said it would eliminate the Flywheel name but retain the shop’s office in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., giving KSR a third location in the state. KSR is based in Coral Gables and also maintains an outpost in Port Charlotte. KSR is independently owned and did not disclose terms of the Flywheel acquisition.

Flywheel, which opened last August, had three employees who all remain with KSR. Flywheel’s clients, which include Carrera Toys, TAG Co., MOS Imaging Systems and Marimon Business Systems, have been added to KSR’s roster, Kustin said.

“We are excited about the specialized expertise Flywheel adds to our already strong and experienced KSR team,” Kelley said. “The acquisition accelerates our expansion plans while enhancing the breadth of service we provide to clients.”

As president, Kustin will be responsible for creative direction and expanding KSR’s brand consulting practice. He reports to Kelley.

Before opening Flywheel, Kustin was president of On the Ball Marketing in Fort Lauderdale for three years. He also was vice president of marketing for Hitachi Consulting and held top marketing positions at Sunbeam and Sensormatic Electronics.

KSR opened in 1982 and counts Florida Prepaid College Board, Miami-Dade Transit, Florida Department of Transportation, Charlotte Harbor and the Gulf Islands Tourism, Alliance for Aging, Hurricane Sentry and the Miami Symphony Orchestra as clients.
