Kilgannon Makes Senior Hires

ATLANTA Kilgannon McReynolds has added three senior-level executives, including a new partner, the agency said.

Chris Schlegel joins the independent Atlanta shop as creative director. He replaces Liz Smith, who left the agency last month. Schlegel also is a partner in the shop, joining the agency’s founder and president Rena Kilgannon and principal Mike Reineck as owners.

Schlegel had been freelancing for the past four years after working as an art director and creative director at several Atlanta shops, including Interpublic Group’s Fitzgerald + Co. He has also worked at Earle Palmer Brown and Wieden + Kennedy.

Terry Doyle joins as group creative director, a new position at the shop. Doyle, a copywriter, had been freelancing for three years. He was a creative director at independent WestWayne in Atlanta from 1999-2002, working mainly on the SunTrust account. Doyle now reports to Schlegel.

Finally, Dave Capano joins the shop as media director, succeeding John Joyce, who left late last year. Previously, Capano worked as media director for Adair-Greene in Atlanta. He also has worked for BBDO in New York and Atlanta.

The shop employs 28 people and works with LeasePlan USA, Attorneys’ Title Insurance Fund and several divisions of The Southern Co.
