Keiler, Winsper Rate Aviation Business

BOSTON Independents Keiler & Co. and J. Winsper & Co., have each scored business in the aviation sector, adding work from Safire Aircraft and the Raytheon Aircraft Co., respectively.

Farmington, Conn.-based Keiler, which has long specialized in flight-related clients, this month breaks ads for Miami’s Safire, which is making its entry into the small business jet category. There was no review and no incumbent on the business, according to Keiler chief operating officer Don Wilson, who said the shop was selected in part because, “We have worked with Safire’s marketing team in their previous stints.”

The campaign includes print and direct marketing materials introducing Safire to businesses that routinely use small jets. “The significance of this … is that it reinforces and perpetuates our reputation and position in the aviation category,” Wilson said.

J. Winsper in Providence, R.I., added work for Raytheon’s Beechcraft and Hawker planes following a review of undisclosed shops, according to agency president Jeff Winsper. For Beechcraft, the agency is launching a print-based campaign (tagged “For those that live to fly”) targeting high net-worth consumers, Winsper said. Hawker will be promoted to senior executives and aviation directors at companies through efforts tagged “Unequalled.”

Budgets were not disclosed, but clients marketing small aircraft for business and private use have typically spent $1-5 million annually on ads.
