JWT in London Names Managing Directors

NEW YORK JWT has yet to fill its London CEO vacancy but, in the meantime, has named joint managing directors to run the office.

Sharing that title are two insiders: Joe Petyan, co-head of account management, and Tom Vick, a business director on Nestle.

The 34-year-old Petyan, who joined the agency in 1997, also helps manage the shop’s global HSBC account. Vick, 40, came aboard last year from public relations agency Freud Communications in London after Freud acquired U.K. ad agency DFGW. Vick had been managing director at DFGW.

JWT Europe CEO Toby Hoare described the pair as “thoroughly decent people who will motivate and enthuse.” He added that Vick “brings a depth of experience” from working with a wide range of clients and “no one knows better than [Peytan] what makes JWT tick.”

The duo will lead the agency day to day as the WPP Group shop searches for a new CEO. They report to Hoare and London executive creative director Russell Ramsey.

Alison Burns vacated the CEO position last year to become a global client services director in JWT’s New York office. Burns now oversees accounts such as Diageo, Kimberly-Clark, Nestle and the Diamond Trading Co. She had been London CEO of JWT for more than two years.
