Job Hunting

Looking for a job on the Web? You and nearly 18 million other folks—about 13 percent of all Internet users—according to data from Nielsen/NetRatings, an Internet-audience measurement and analysis service. About a quarter of all executives and managers who surfed the Web logged on to career sites, or 2.8 million people. The only group that used job sites more often was technical staffers. Nielsen data also showed that 19 percent of those classified as professionals, 3.1 million people, searched online for work. The least likely Web users to conduct an online job search? Homemakers. —Heidi Jacobs
