Jaguar Taps Consultants for $100 Mil.+ Review

NEW YORK Ford Motor Co.’s Jaguar has hired the team of Roth Associates in New York and Agency Assessments International in London to manage its $100 million-plus global creative review, which includes traditional advertising and direct marketing, sources said.

For several years, Roth and Agency Assessments have collaborated under a joint venture known as Global Assessments. Having a presence in the U.K. was a prerequisite for handling the job, since Jaguar Cars Ltd. is headquartered there and U.K executives will participate in the review, said sources.

Roth and Agency Assessments principal David Weathey did not return calls; Jaguar could not immediately be reached.

The incumbents, WPP Group’s Young & Rubicam (traditional ads) and Wunderman (direct marketing), are defending.

Media duties, which were originally included in the review, were taken off the table after negotiations between the client and WPP [Adweek Online, Nov. 5]. WPP’s Mediaedge:cia handles those duties in the U.S. and WPP’s MindShare, in markets outside the U.S.
