Prevent Child Abuse Georgia is seeking an advertising agency to create a public-service campaign on a pro-bono basis.

“Working with PCA Georgia provides an opportunity to do groundbreaking workin the area of public awareness of child abuse and neglect,” said Lauren Hoffman, director of communications for the Atlanta organization.

The nonprofit group recently received a grant from the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta to develop a campaign that places responsibility for preventing sexual abuse of children on the community.

“The important thing to remember is that other campaigns about child sexual abuse focused on the victim. This campaign goes to the adult and says this is your responsibility,” Hoffman said. “We’ll be starting at ground zero with this.”

Additional agency involvement will include creative and media planning for fundraising events such as the Stars in the Arts auction and the Air Trans Caribbean (Golf) Classic.

The client’s previous advertising was handled by Kilgannon McReyn-olds, also in Atlanta.
