In short, through the magic of interactive TV, viewers will be able to participate in some of their favorite programs. Interactive Network Inc., based in Mountain View, Calif., begins offering its service in Chicago next month and plans to add additional markets in the spring and fall of 1994.
To help sell the service in Chicago, Interactive Network will air a 30-minute infomercial featuring Chicago Cub Mark Grace, breaking mid-September. Omega Productions/S.F. created the infomercial.
Interactive Network will offer 20-hour-a-day programming that allows subscribers to ‘play along’ with TV on a simultaneous or ‘real time’ basis with or without cable installation. Viewers participate using a hand-held wireless portable control unit.
