Cysive, Turner TV Properties, Kids II, Financier Come Aboard
ATLANTA–Creative boutique Huey/Paprocki has won five advertising assignments. New work will break before the end of next month for two of the clients.
The largest account is Cysive, a developer of e-commerce architecture in McLean, Va. Cysive has hired the Atlanta shop to create a business-to-business brand imaging print campaign. Client marketing program manager Mike Hayes said the account was currently worth “under $5 million,” including all media, which will be handled by Next Media in Dallas.
A source familiar with the company said the budget could go much higher as a result of Cysive’s initial public offering. The IPO opened at $17 a share in the second week of October; by last Wednesday, the stock was selling at $40.
Hayes said Huey/Paprocki was recommended to Cysive by The Martin Agency in Richmond, Va., which participated in early talks with the client and where principal Ron Huey worked in the early 1990s.
Hayes said Cysive also spoke with E. James White in Herndon, Va., and Arnold Communications in McLean, but there was no formal pitch process.
“We looked at a lot of work and thought [Huey/Paprocki] really had stuff as good as a major, major agency,” Hayes said.
Breaking later this fall will be a series of 10 print executions promoting Turner Broadcasting Systems’ Cartoon Network spinoff, Boom-erang, which launches April 1, 2000. The channel will feature retro cartoons like Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound, Wally Gator and other baby boomer favorites.
Another TBS property, Turner South, has hired Huey/Paprocki to assist on brand advertising. The initial assignment is a print piece promoting Southern Living Presents. Turner is based in Atlanta.
Kids II, a maker of children’s educational toys, hired Huey/Paprocki as its first consumer advertising agency. An initial print piece for the Alpharetta, Ga., client breaks in American Baby’s November issue.
Peachtree Franchise Finance, a restaurant financier, hired the shop for a print campaign. The client is located in Vinings, Ga.
Billings for the individual accounts were not disclosed. Other than Cysive, the clients will handle media buys internally.
