HOW NOW DIGITAL COW?

Burger King went to the source to introduce its new oversized hamburger offering to customers in Latin America.

FireWorks Motion Media, a special effects company in Miami, employed “motion warping” software to create a stretch-limo-size cow. In the print incarnation, it resembles a horizontal black-and-white banana with a head and a tale.

The creature will make its debut in a television commercial, complete with motion tracking and other effects.

“The beauty of this job is its simplicity,” said FireWorks producer Anabella Sosa. “You don’t have to go wild in special effects to get a nice job done.”

In fact, photographs of real cows were used to provide the head and tail in the ad’s animal hybrid. A computer handled the stretch.

The print piece breaks in Mexico later this spring.
