LeasePlan Parks at Kilgannon McReynolds

ATLANTA—Kilgannon McReynolds has added LeasePlan USA to its client roster. The Alpharetta, Ga.-based company leases, finances and manages fleets of cars and trucks. Billings are estimated at $2 million. The previous U.S. incumbent was Ozyp Advertising in Atlanta. LeasePlan’s global advertising is handled by BBN, The Multicultural Agency, in London. Kilgannon’s recent selection as BBN’s affiliated agency in the Southeast helped the Atlanta shop win the business. Agency principal Rena Kilgannon will serve on BBN’s LeasePlan global planning committee as the representative for the company’s U.S. business.

Michelin Tires Appoints Campbell-Ewald

CHICAGO—Campbell-Ewald Advertising now has tires for its cars and trucks. The Warren, Mich., agency last week won Michelin North America’s $35 million account in a review dominated by shops with automotive experience. CEA bested Carmichael Lynch of Minneapolis and The Martin Agency in Richmond, Va., for the business of the Greenville, S.C.-based client. The client’s Michelin Man showed up at the agency last Friday morning with the news. Company executives, however, declined to comment other than in a release in which Pete Selleck, chief operating officer of Michelin Americas Small Tires, said he was “excited about the possibilities” and that CEA offered the best fit for “our strategic marketing plans.” CEA chief executive officer Tony Hopp said his shop emphasized its experience marketing to women and younger people, and its retail background with Chevy, specifically its methods to “energize distribution channels.” Incumbent DDB in New York was cut in an earlier round of the review, along with Leo Burnett of Chicago, The Richards Group in Dallas and MerkleyNewman Harty in New York.

Atomic Fusion Gains Grapevine, Turner South

ATLANTA—Grapevine Partners has selected Atomic Fusion to create its new brand identity. Work for the Atlanta-based venture capital group includes a corporate logotype and collateral material. The Atlanta interactive shop has also relaunched a new Web site forTurner South, a TBS network headquartered here.

DWP/Bates Hires Martin Agency Executive

ATLANTA—DWP/Bates Technology has hired Steele Hays as vice president and managing director. Hays, 47, will head up the Dulles, Va., office of the Atlanta agency. Most recently, Hays served as senior vice president and group management supervisor at The Martin Agency in Richmond, Va., where he worked on the Altell, Network Solutions, Skytel and GE Global eXchange Services accounts.
