Harris Drury Cohen Loses Clients, EmployeesATLANTA—Following the loss of two major clients, Harris Drury Cohen has laid off at least 12 employees, or 15 percent of its workforce. Agency principal Stan Harris acknowledged the personnel downsizing, which came in the wake of the Fort Lauderdale, Fla., shop's parting ways with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts and Levitz Furniture Stores. Harris said combined billings for the two accounts amounted to approximately $20 million. West & Vaughan to Pitch Baseball AmericaATLANTA—West & Vaughan has been named agency of record for Baseball America. The bi-weekly publication, issued in Durham, N.C., covers the national pastime from high school to the Major Leagues. It chose West & Vaughan, also located in Durham, for its $1 million account over undisclosed agencies. All advertising was previously handled in-house. Martin/Williams Replaces Martin at SteelcaseCHICAGO—Office equipment supplier Steelcase has appointed Martin/Williams its new agency. The Grand Rapids, Mich.-based company chose the Minneapolis shop for its estimated $5-10 million advertising account following a review that, according to sources, also involved BBDO in Minneapolis. The Martin Agency, the incumbent in Richmond, Va., did not participate. FB&I Creates 'Fang Fever' for PredatorsATLANTA—Frank Best & Ingram has created the slogan "Fang fever" for the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League, supplanting last year's theme, "The beast is back." The Nashville, Tenn., agency replaced the same city's Dye, Van Mol & Lawrence, which did not defend the account [Adweek, Aug. 21]. BCF&M Wins Top Healthcare Ad AwardATLANTA—Barker Campbell Farley & Mansfield Advertising and Public Relations won the gold award at the annual Healthcare Marketing Report ad competition for "The Best Doctors in New York." The Virginia Beach, Va.-based shop's work was done for Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, N.J. SW Florida AAF Awards Silver Medal to BerschATLANTA—Jean A. Bersch has received the Silver Medal for outstanding lifetime contributions from the Southwest Florida chapter of the American Advertising Federation. Bersch is founder and co-owner of The Set Up, a desktop publishing service in Cape Coral, Fla. Ornelas Focuses on Future for Nissan's FrontierDALLAS—Hispanic agency Ornelas & Associates has rolled out its latest campaign for Nissan's restyled 2001 Frontier trucks. The "Evolucion" campaign from the Dallas shop, with radio, print, outdoor and television components, defines the Frontier King Cab as a futuristic model. "Prophecy" concentrates on the Frontier Crew Cab model, extolling the pickup truck's powerful performance features. It breaks Nov. 16 for a three-week run. The TV spots will air on the Telemundo and Univision networks in 12 markets. Print ads will appear in national Hispanic publications through March 2001.
