NEW YORK – Amid persistent speculation that Creative Artists Agency has horned in on Lintas’ creative assignment for Diet Coke, Lintas may be rejiggering its Diet Coke team in its continuing effort to sell revamped work to the client on the brand. According to a source familiar with the agency, Frank DeVito, currently Lintas:Americas chief creative officer, has been working on new domestic creative work for the brand. It was unclear at press time whether DeVito’s effort was considered a replacement for, or a complement to, the work being led by Lintas:New York chief creative officer Tony DeGregorio. Office president/coo F. Stone Roberts denied that DeVito had replaced DeGregorio on the Diet Coke business. ‘I can assure you that is unequivocally untrue,’ he said. Meanwhile, a spokesperson for CAA, which has begun to produce a second flight of commercials for Coca-Cola, insisted the company has had no discussions with Coke concerning advertising for the Diet Coke brand. Coke executives also denied the reports on CAA and Diet Coke.
