Tonight at 9 p.m., at Carnaval, the new New York shop will host the first of hopefully many “Mother Mondays.” From what we can gather from the agency’s somewhat slippery e-mail on the subject, attendees should expect to mingle, enjoy a beverage or two, not talk about advertising, and soak up the stylings of “legendary Norwegian-Cuban trumpeter/pianist” JR III (aka Jon Rekdal)—a sound described as ” ‘sad’ cocktail lounge ‘jazz.’
