NEW YORK General Electric today said it has named 18-year company veteran Dan Henson chief marketing officer.

Henson succeeds Beth Comstock, who was promoted last month to president of digital media and marketing at GE’s NBC Universal.

Henson was promoted to CMO from chief commercial officer of the company’s commercial finance department.

In addition to overseeing all marketing and sales efforts for the Fairfield, Conn.-based client, Henson, 44, will be responsible for promoting GE’s new products, technologies and environmental efforts, as well as its global training program for sales and marketing staff.
