NEW YORK The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation sold 100,000 shares of Univision Communications Inc. Class A common stock on Dec. 18, according to a U.S. regulatory filing on Friday.
The foundation said it sold its remaining stake in Univision, which is in the process of being acquired by private investors, for an average of $35.34 per share in open-market transactions.
In May, Gates’ Cascade Investment, a private investment entity, had joined Mexico’s Grupo Televisa and other equity firms in a failed bid to buy Univision.
