Foster Guides GCG’s New Healthcare Group

DALLAS GCG Advertising has formed a healthcare group to offer more specialized services to its nine health-related and pharmaceutical clients, the agency said. Shop vice president Neil Foster will temporarily head up the new division.

Foster said the decision to expand the shop’s core unit was the result of its tremendous growth in the last five years. “Over the last year especially, we’ve seen a big push with pharmaceutical companies,” he said. “In that natural progression, we felt it was important to separate and diversify our strategy and focus.”

While the Fort Worth, Texas-based shop currently serves nine health-related clients, Foster said the new division would continue to go after the small to midsize healthcare or pharmaceutical company. Current clients include pharmaceutical firms Bioglan and Healthpoint.

“There aren’t a lot of pharmaceutical companies in the South, so we feel like we’re filling a nice little niche here,” Foster said. “We’re able to provide the same services as a larger agency, but we can do them for a whole lot less.”

GCG’s specialized healthcare services include publication planning, medical writing, poster exhibits and slide kits.

Foster plans to supervise the new healthcare group initially and then promote or recruit someone to assume his responsibilities.
