NEW YORK The Sydney office of Euro RSCG has landed global creative duties on Jacob’s Creek, a key brand in Pernod Ricard’s portfolio, the Havas agency confirmed today.
The selection came after a review in which the other finalists were Publicis Group’s Saatchi & Saatchi and Omnicom Group units DDB and BBDO, according to Euro RSCG. Clemenger BBDO in Adelaide, Australia, was the incumbent.
Global media spending on the wine brand was not immediately available. In the U.S. last year, major measured media spending totaled just $100,000, up 67 percent from 2007’s total, according to Nielsen. Those figures do not include online spending.
Euro RSCG’s winning pitch was led by Paul Bennett, CEO of the network’s Australian operation, and the account will be run out of Sydney.
Jacob’s Creek becomes the second Pernod Ricard brand at Euro RSCG, after Chivas Regal. The agency won global creative duties on the scotch whiskey brand in May 2008.
