Englehart New Lowe Lintas Client Specialist

Lowe Lintas & Partners has reached across the Atlantic to bolster its global management team here, hiring John Englehart to the new post of evp, worldwide client services.
Since 1997, he has worked at Lowe Lintas in London, first as general manager of Europe and most recently as evp worldwide. Before that, Englehart, 38, spent 14 years at Ogilvy & Mather in public relations, direct marketing and advertising roles. His client experience ranges from HSBC and American Express to Saab, Heineken and Unilever.
“He has strong experience in managing international accounts across disciplines,” said Michael
Sennott, Lowe Lintas deputy chairman, describing Englehart as smart, likeable and a consensus builder.
Englehart arrives seven months after Lowe & Partners merged with Ammirati Puris Lintas and as the agency ramps up its new-business efforts. The shop has had mixed success this year. It lost a pitch for Lycos ($30 million), was cut from H&R Block’s review for its $100 million account, but won 3Com’s $100 million global account–a pitch in which Englehart played a role.
“This job is, as much as anything, about driving change in this agency,” said Englehart. “Obviously, new business is a great way of driving change. I will be working very closely–intimately–with Rob [Quish, New York president] and Bruce [Kelley, U.S. president],” he added.
The new post was needed to bring integration and cooperation throughout the global network, said Frank Lowe, CEO of The Lowe Group. “Creativity drives efficiency in marketing communications, and John will exploit this advantage across traditional disciplines and geographic boundaries,” Lowe said.
