CHICAGO Internet service provider Earthlink has parted with Publicis Groupe shop Leo Burnett and will seek a new agency to handle its creative chores, sources said.

The move had been expected, as Chicago-based Burnett absorbed Earthlink creative agency LB Works in December. In addition, the Atlanta company’s contract expired last month, sources said.

A client representative declined to comment, as did Burnett officials.

Earthlink spent $100 million on ads last year, according to Nielsen Monitor-Plus. About $50 million of that was spent on broadcast media, the rest on print and direct marketing efforts.
