From Dough to

From Dough to Snow

The Pillsbury Doughboy has been everywhere lately: in ads by Saatchi & Saatchi New York for the California Milk Processor Board and MasterCard, for example. Now he is returning to his own turf. A new holiday ad that broke last week shows him in the guise of a snowman to tout Pillsbury’s Snow Man cookies. The spot shows a snowman interspersed with shots of cookies rising in the oven, and the copy, “Sometimes the littlest moments can add the most magic.” At the end of the spot, the “snowman” shakes off snow to reveal he is, in fact, the Doughboy. “The snowman is a very seasonal, recognizable, fun little character, like Doughboy—white, round and fluffy,” said John Sullivan, svp, group cd. “We thought it was a neat way for the Doughboy to reveal himself: hiding inside a snowman.”
