MAYNARD, MASS. – An agency review of the PC Business Group is only one of the marketing machinations underway at Digital Equipment Corp. DEC is emulating IBM’s restructuring by giving nine individual units increasing marketing autonomy. DEC confirmed that its Personal Computing Business Group is shopping for an agency. DEC agencies Ketchum/Pittsburgh and direct-marketing shop Krupp/Taylor, Los Angeles, are in the hunt. Sources said J. Walter Thompson, Young & Rubicam, and Scali, McCabe, Sloves, all in New York, are also pitching the $10 million account.
