DG Systems Reels In Source TV

DALLAS DG Systems, a provider of digital media-distribution services to the advertising and broadcasting industries, has acquired Source TV in an effort to expand its media asset-management offerings, the company said.

Through the acquisition, Dallas-based DG Systems can now offer agencies, advertisers and production houses access to more than 350,000 TV spots via Source TV’s searchable database, the company said. The commercials, which are viewable online, may be bought on both a subscription and per-transaction basis.

The database also allows users to search for spots by keyword, product and product category, among others. In addition, directors and production companies may be identified by name, style, specialty and location.

“Source TV is a complementary acquisition that diversifies DG Systems’ revenue mix, expands our product offerings and customer base and further strengthens our executive management team,” said DG Systems’ chairman and CEO, Scott K. Ginsburg, in a statement.

Terms of the deal were undisclosed.

To oversee the transition, Source TV founder and president Pamela Maythenyi, 48, has joined DG Systems in the new role of svp. She will continue to work out of Source TV’s Boca Raton, Fla., headquarters.

DG Systems’ digital network reaches more than 5,000 advertisers and agencies and nearly 2,000 broadcast and cable destinations. Source TV has more than 4,000 active users who annually generate more than 20,000 individual online sessions from its searchable online database.
