CXO Media Makes Management Moves

BOSTON CXO Media said it has promoted Cathy O’Leary Hayes to chief marketing officer, a new position at the company.

O’Leary Hayes, 48, has been with the Framingham, Mass.-based publisher, a unit of International Data Group, for 14 years, where she had a hand in launching numerous titles, including CIO, CMO and CSO, as well as various brand extensions.

She had been the company’s marketing evp.

“O’Leary Hayes’ enhanced title reinforces her significant strategic contributions to the corporate suite,” said CXO chief executive Walter Manninen. “It is her work creating CXO’s marketing functions and associated disciplines across multiple brands that cemented CXO Media as the ‘go-to’ C-level resource.”

The company has also hired Bob Hayes, 53, (no relation to O’Leary Hayes) as chief security officer. Most recently, he worked in Atlanta as CSO of Georgia-Pacific and prior to that for 3M Corp. in Minneapolis.
