GOLDEN, COLO. – Newly named Coors Brewing Co. president and chief operating officer Leo Kiely put the final touches on his top management team last week by naming vp/brand marketing Rob Klugman to the new position of vp/corporate development, and brought in Tropicana Products senior vp/marketing Bill Weintraub to be vp/marketing. Klugman, according to insiders, will be responsible for restructuring the company’s operations, including making its sales and distribution system more efficient. Weintraub will be responsible for all advertising and marketing for the company’s established brands. He said last week he had no immediate plans to change any advertising assignments, but said he will look at all agency assignments once he gets involved in the businesses. Foote, Cone & Belding/Chicago is Coors’ mainline agency. Insiders say Klugman already is working on a two-month study that evaluates all operations within the company, looking at everything from sales and distribution to staffing.
