NEW YORK Cliff Freeman and Partners has cut 12 employees or 19 percent of its staff this week following the loss earlier this month of creative duties on Mohegan Sun’s estimated $25 million account, sources said.

Arthur Bijur, president and executive creative director of the New York shop, now owned by MDC Partners, acknowledged that there were layoffs but would not specify the number let go or the size of the workforce. He said the cuts were due to the loss of Mohegan Sun, which moved to MDC sibling Kirshenbaum Bond + Partners in New York following a review.
