LOS ANGELES–After selecting BBDO West in Los Angeles as its ad agency just over a year ago, Stimson Lane Wineries has moved its estimated $4 million account to Elgin DDB in Seattle.
Both agencies are owned by parent company Omnicom Group in New York.
The Woodinville, Wash.-based vintner moved its account two weeks ago for ‘convenience,’ said Stimson Lane executive vice president of sales and marketing Ted Baseler.
‘The distance from here to the (Los Angeles) agency was just too much,’ Baseler said. ‘Both agencies were involved in the transfer and it was very amicable.’
Elgin will immediately take over all advertising duties previously handled by BBDO, Baseler said. This includes broadcast, print and radio advertising. The client intends to focus more on broadcast ads, he said.
BBDO won the Stimson Lane account after a February 1996 review. Last year BBDO created a holiday campaign, ‘Bottles,’ depicting champagne bottles in unusual places.
