MINNEAPOLIS Continuing a new-business win streak, independent shop Olson here said it has added advertising, PR and media chores for Chinet disposable tableware following a review.
The agency is tasked with creating campaigns across multiple media channels, including TV, print, radio and out-of-home venues.
The budget for Olson going forward was not disclosed, but Chinet has typically spent $3-5 million in major domestic media in recent years, per Nielsen. The Buntin Group in Nashville, Tenn., had crafted ads for Chinet since 1999.
Chinet said Olson was brought aboard to help communicate details of its product innovations and various lines to consumers, as well execute traditional brand messaging.
Kevin DiLorenzo, agency president, said the win is notable because it gives Olson a chance to leverage a recognizable brand name in fresh ways to attract a new generation of customers. Chinet has been manufactured in the U.S. since the 1930s, and ranks as an iconic brand with a long history of memorable advertising, mainly from the 1970s and 80s.
Chinet is among the most visible brand Olson has added of late. The shop picked up UnitedHealth Group’s Ovations unit a week ago. It also recently welcomed work from Imation (for Memorex and other brands), Country Inns & Suites and Lee Jeans.
