Capps Is Stepping Down From Publicis Unit

CHICAGO Rick Capps, president and CEO of Publicis Groupe digital production unit Capps, will retire next year, the agency said.

Brent Moncrief, Capps’ chief marketing officer, will become CEO, effective January 1, 2006. Capps will continue to handle the transition through the year.

“I have had an exciting career in an industry that has experienced significant change over the past 15 years,” said Capps, 52, in a statement. “The advent of digital technologies in graphic arts created an opportunity for me to grow my father’s boutique art studio of six employees into a digital pre-media leader of more than 200 professionals.”
