California Lottery Voids McCann Victory

LOS ANGELES The California Lottery voted today to throw out its decision to award its five-year, $125 million account to McCann-Erickson and put the account back in review for a third time, sources said.

In doing so, the lottery will not have to rule on the four outstanding protests filed by the other finalists, including Foote, Cone & Belding in San Francisco and DDB and the incumbent, Grey, both in Los Angeles, according to sources.

The decision to cancel the award came as a result of McCann’s failure to disclose information about parent company Interpublic Group and its officers, as well as information about the officers and directors at McCann in the U.S.,
