Cablevision Seeks Shop for Optimum Services

NEW YORK Cablevision Systems has hired consultancy Matchworks to conduct an agency search for its Optimum suite of Internet and telephony services, sources said.

Questionnaires for the creative portion of the account were due back earlier this week, sources said. Red Tettemer in Philadelphia is the incumbent agency, but it could not immediately be determined whether the shop would defend. The shop did not return calls seeking comment.

Red Tettemer produced a $2 million regional Northeast campaign for the Bethpage, N.Y., client earlier this year, tagged “There’s no better way to learn.”

Calls to Matchworks in New York and marketing executives at the client were not returned.

Cablevision spent $5 million on advertising in 2002, according to Nielsen Monitor-Plus.
