Anheuser-Busch last week broke two spots that play off work for rival Miller Brewing, the latest shot in an ongoing spat between the brewers. One of the spots—both by independent Cannonball in St. Louis—shows football referees flagging folks for drinking Bud Light and attempting to replace it with Miller Lite, a scenario similar to Miller ads by WPP’s Ogilvy & Mather. Here, the refs just want the Bud Light. In a statement, Miller said, “The most expensive and detailed non-reaction in the history of American commerce continues out of St. Louis.”
