MELBOURNE – Ansett Australia has announced it will review its $11-million account, which is currently handled by Sydney agency John Singleton Advertising. The new management of the nation’s biggest privately run domestic airline, which is about to start flying to Asia, wants to move its ad account back to Melbourne where it is headquartered. Shortlisted are two Backer Speilvogel Bates agencies, George Patterson and The Campaign Palace, which worked on the account for three years until late 1990. The other agency in the running is Whybin Dery Barnes. One partner at that shop, Tom Dery, left his position as Ansett marketing director last year to start the agency.
