Atlantans Vie for Georgia Tourism

Finalists have been named in the review for the $5 million account of the Georgia Department of Industry, Trade and Tourism.

According to a client spokesperson, only a dozen advertising agencies, public relations and interactive firms responded to the request for proposal.

Among the finalists confirmed are four teams of creative, public relations and interactive firms, including Atlanta agencies Match, BaylessCronin, Clarion Marketing and Turner Fernandez Turner.

Match has paired with public relations partner Manning, Selvage & Lee and Ant Farm Interactive, all in Atlanta. BaylessCronin and fellow Omnicom interactive member Red Sky in San Francisco will pitch with Atlanta’s The Headline Group.

1999 finalist Clarion has joined with New York public relations firm GCI and Atlanta interactive shop MacQuarium, which designed GDITT’s Web site through incumbent J. Walter Thompson (not defending). Fleishman-Hillard here will take the lead in its partnership with crosstown boutique Turner Fernandez Turner.

The account involves the department’s four divisions: economic development, international trade, tourism, and the film and video office. Additional responsibilities encompass public relations support.

Oral presentations begin June 5. A decision is expected by June 29.
