JL Media, one of the nation’s largest media planning and buying services based in the New York area, has opened an office in Miami to service accounts in Florida and throughout the Southeast. The new company will be a joint venture with Miami-based R/W Media.





Mind Over Matter TCG in St. Petersburg has relocated its offices to the historic Snell Arcade building.





Gouchenour Communications in Orlando has added B/E Aerospace as a new business client. The company is one of the largest providers of products for aircraft cabin interiors.





Todd & Dee Creative Group in Miami Beach has been hired by Dynacolor Graphics to design and produce a collateral campaign that includes a capabilities brochure and a series of follow-up materials. The client specializes in the printing of post-card products, catalog sheets, brochures, direct mail pieces and art reproductions.





Jacoby, O’Connor & Matthews in Fort Lauderdale has changed its name to J. O’Connor & Matthews.





NHP Inc., a real estate firm based in Indianapolis, selected Stephen Gordet Associates, Miami, to handle advertising for its senior living portfolio. The agency currently handles two of the 10 properties managed by NHP.





GEORGIA





Ralph McGill & Partners in Atlanta has added three accounts to its roster: Randstad Staffing Services, the Adaptive Learning Center and Pioneer Eyecare. The agency opened its doors earlier this year.





The National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) has retained PriMedia in Atlanta to develop an integrated marketing and communications strategy for its 50th anniversary next year. The agency specializes in sports and entertainment clients.





Grover Sterling Photography Studio in Atlanta has formed a partnership with Graphic Press and Arenella Digital Imaging to form Rockett Studio. The union creates one of the largest digital imaging systems in the Southeast.





Manning, Selvage & Lee has added three new healthcare clients in its Atlanta office: The Arthritis Foundation, Bulloch Memorial Hospital and Houston Healthcare Complex.





Cowan & Joseph in Atlanta has acquired three new business accounts: Morehouse Medical Associates, Rejuve Image Enhancement Centers and Marco Technologies.





The Ledges of Huntsville Mountain has selected Idea Associates in Atlanta to introduce and market the new country club community.





Grizzard, an Atlanta-based direct marketing firm, has been picked to develop a relationship direct marketing program for Champion Rent-To-Own. The client specializes in short-term rentals of appliances, furniture, electronics and jewelry.





MARYLAND





RMR & Associates in Rockville has added to its high-tech client base with the acquisition of Telogy Networks, a provider of software-based telecommunications products and systems.





Tracey Haldeman, former art director with Hartt and Co., has announced the formation her own agency, Pinnacle Communications Resource Co., Baltimore. The new shop will specialize in advertising and collateral design.





NORTH CAROLINA





Bradford Communications in Hickory has opened an office in Raleigh. The new outpost will be headed by J. Alan Armstrong.





Johnson & Beacham Advertising in Raleigh has received the National Pro-Comm Award from the Business Marketing Association’s national chapter.





Adstreet in Cary has been named to handle the advertising account for Rio Bravo Cantina, a Mexican restaurant chain operated by RioRo in Raleigh. There is currently one Rio Bravo in North Carolina. The firm plans to open three more outlets and begin construction on four sites in the next 12 months.





CreationHouse Advertising in Pinehurst has been assigned advertising and marketing for Motion Technology. The agency will handle Autofry, the client’s fully enclosed, automated, hoodless, ventless, dry-frying system.





SOUTH CAROLINA





Charleston Place Hotel and RawleMurdy Associates, also in Charleston, were recently honored by the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International. The pair received several awards from the association, which recognizes outstanding advertising work for travel-related concerns.





The Gillespie Agency in Columbia will handle advertising and marketing communications for The Seibels Bruce Group, a locally based company that offers a complete line of insurance products.





TENNESSEE





Chandler, Erlich & Co., a Memphis-based marketing company, has been selected for membership in the American Association of Advertising Agencies.





H.G. Hill Food Stores has retained the services of McGee Best & Frank in Nashville to handle its broadcast creative work. The move marks the first time in the client’s 102-year history that it has hired an outside advertising service.
