D’Arcy Masius Ben ton & Bowles in New York landed Infonxx’s wireless directory-assistance-services account, following a review of undisclosed agencies. Billings are esti mated at $10 million. The shop is the first agency for the Bethlehem, Pa.-based client. Other Bcom3 units, such as Clarion Marketing Communications, Manning, Selvage & Lee and MediaVest, will handle direct, event and local marketing, public relations, and media planning and buying, respectively. A campaign is expected in late 2002.

Saratoga Springs-based Palio Communications formed two scientific and medical-advisory boards. The Regional Advisory Board is composed of eight physicians from the Capital region of New York state, who will assist the advertising and communications agency with developing strat egies for its healthcare clients. The National Advisory Board has 12 scientists and physicians who will act as consultants for Palio’s marketing efforts. The boards will be overseen by Dr. David St. Peter, shop vice president, medical director. Palio is a subsidiary of inChord Communications, a Columbus, Ohio-based global group of communications companies.

Rotter•kantor, a New York-based communications company, was awarded Re:PLAY!’s ad account. The client is a Providence, R.I.-based manufacturer and marketer of children’s toys in the U.S.; it also sells remote-control brands, action figures and sports products. Rotter•kantor also has an office in Los Angeles.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority extended its ad contract with Korey Kay & Partners for another three years. This will be the New York-based shop’s fourth three-year term for the client; Korey Kay has held the account since 1992.

HWH Public Relations/New Media was tapped by Ceco Environmental to raise public awareness of biohazard terrorist threats. The client is a Toronto-based air-control company. The New York-based agency will create a public relations campaign designed to educate companies about the importance of air filters. The effort will include TV, radio and print work. HWH was also hired by Jericho-based 02 Unlimited, a high-tech healthcare distribution company, to launch Donna, a saliva fertility tester. In addition, HWH will promote Glogover Hosiery’s Pedi-Hose hosiery line. The product has a flap at the toes that allows a woman to roll up her pantyhose before getting a pedicure. Glogover is based in Fort Lee, N.J.

Nancy J. Friedman PR was hired to publicize the launches of The Ritz-Carlton New York, Battery Park and The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park South. The shop, which is based in New York, is responsible for all of the hotels’ public relations activities. The Battery Park property opened at the end of January, and the Central Park location is set to open this spring at the site of the former St. Moritz.


Allan Gorman, president of AGCD, a Montclair-based design, copy and ad shop, designed and produced the call for entries for the New Jersey Advertising Club’s 34th Annual Jersey Awards competition. The entry form bears the copy, “Have you got what it takes to reach the top?” The competition is open to New Jersey-based shops and businesses and those outside the state that serve New Jersey-based clients. The awards dinner is set to take place in West Orange on May 21.

Boonton-based S3 was tapped by Bisque Restaurant in Paramus to handle its advertising and public relations duties. The brand-growth consultancy will create new menus and guerrilla-advertising efforts for the restaurant. S3 will also promote Bisque via radio, mobile billboards and the Internet.

Planet Central, an ad agency with offices in Westfield and Richmond, Va., is rolling out an international ad campaign to raise money for the restoration of two castles in the Orkney Islands in Scotland. Steve St. Clair, shop cofounder, is leading the campaign for Girnigoe Castle, built in 1470, and Castle Sinclair, built in 1606. Planet Central was hired by Malcolm Sinclair, clan chief and CEO of the Sinclair Trust, which oversees the castles. St. Clair designed and wrote three ads, which are running in Virginia and Nova Scotia publications.

The MWW Group’s Los Angeles office added six accounts: Gateway to L.A. PBID; Wet Design; Community Memorial Hospital; Kno waste; Westway Terminal Co.; and Line barger Goggan Blair Peña & Sampson. Gateway to L.A. PBID is a consortium of hotels, office buildings, parking facilities, restaurants and businesses near Los Angeles International Airport. Universal City, Calif.-based Wet Design designs water features for architects, developers, municipalities, landscape architects and individuals. Community Memorial Hospital is in Ventura, Calif. Santa Clarita, Calif.-based Kno waste specializes in recycling personal-care products. Westway Terminal Co., which is based in San Pedro, Calif., provides bulk liquid storage-related services. Linebarger Goggan Blair Peña & Sampson, an Austin, Texas-based law firm, provides government collection services. MWW is based in East Rutherford.


Knezic/Pavone Advertising won the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board account, following a review that included three other Pennsylvania shops. The client licenses retail and wholesale establishments where alcoholic beverages are sold; it also monitors the purchase, distribution, wholesaling and retailing of alcohol.

Neiman Group was awarded the Capital BlueCross of Central Pennsylvania and the Lehigh Valley’s advertising account. The shop is responsible for the Harrisburg-based client’s TV, outdoor, print and radio efforts. Neiman Group is charged with branding Capital BlueCross. The account is estimated at about $5 million. Neiman Group is an integrated-communications company with offices in Harrisburg, York and Philadelphia.

Graphic-design firm Munroe Creative Partners added Kensey Nash Corp., Cephalon, Aramark and the Agnes Irwin School to its client roster. The Philadelphia-based company will create corporate collateral material for the U.S. and European launches of Kensey Nash’s new medical device for the interventional cardiology market, as well as produce the client’s annual report. The client is an Exton-based medical-device company. For West Chester-based Ceph alon, Munroe will design the biopharmaceutical company’s annual report. The shop will design Philadelphia-based Aramark’s retail catalog. Agnes Irwin School in Villanova hired Munroe to re design its corporate identity. Munroe also has offices in New York, Washington and Stamford, Conn.
