Berenter Greenhouse & Webster, New York, will handle advertising duties for two upcoming theater productions: Epic Proportions, a comedy by Larry Coen and David Crane, which begins previews at the Helen Hayes Theatre on Aug. 17; and Abby’s Song, a musical by Mickey Kelly and Susan Kelly Panian, running at the City Center, Nov. 8-28.
Moody Communications, New York, has picked up the $3 million Baby Togs account. The designer and manufacturer of infant and toddler apparel has charged Moody with developing an integrated branding campaign.
Artistic Tile, an importer and designer of tiles, marble and stone, with stores in New York and New Jersey, has tapped The GFS/Levinson Group, New York, to develop a new ad campaign. Ads will run in fall issues of Elle Decor, Architectural Digest and The New York Times.
The London International Advertising Awards has extended the deadline for its interactive competition. Entries should arrive by Friday, July 23.
BSMG Medical & Health Communications, New York, added four clients: V.I. Technologies, Melville, retained the agency to promote its Vitex process, which cleans donated blood of viruses such as HIV and hepatitis B and C; Princeton, N.J.-based Church & Dwight tapped BSMG to launch its new whitening toothpaste, Arm & Hammer Advance White; Bayer Diagnostics chose the agency to support its hematology diagnostic products; and Melaleuca selected BSMG to launch its new cosmetics and skin care line, endorsed by designer Nicole Miller.

Gottlieb & Lane, New York, its advertising agency following an eight-month review. The account was previously held by Avrett, Free & Ginsberg, New York. MRG&L bested Liggett Stashower, Cleveland, and Dimac Direct in Philadelphia to win the business.
Roy Grace, now chairman of Grace & Rothschild, New York, created three of the top six TV spots ever, according to TV Guide’s “50 Greatest Commercials of All Time.” As a top creative at Doyle Dane Bernbach, he helped develop the “Spicy Meatball” ad for Alka Seltzer, “Funeral” for Volkswagon and “Gorilla” for American Tourister. TV Guide ranked the spots second, third and sixth, respectively.
Furman Roth Advertising, New York, took home three prizes at the 31st annual Jersey Awards. The agency’s radio work won first place honors for clients Car Cash in the jingle category; 44 Snowboard Shops in the single spot competition; and Odd Job Closeout Stores in the campaign category.
Hawkeye Communications, New York, has acquired Creative Communications of America, an Albany-based marketing communications firm. Hawkeye is an integrated marketing services company, while CCA specializes in promoting colleges and universities across the country.
Rowland Communications, New York, has established a marketing and communications strategy consulting unit, Rowland Consulting, headquartered in New York. The division will assist with companies’ marketing, communications and selling functions.
Burson-Marsteller, New York, has opened a global network of Y2K Communications Command Centers, to be staffed by crisis managers through the millennium weekend. The centers are intended to inform public opinion to prevent irrational consumer behavior such as stockpiling.
Biederman Kelly Krimstein & Partners, New York, developed four print ads for radio station WQXR which ran in June. Since last week, the campaign has been referenced in the window displays of Paul Stewart’s Manhattan store. The displays, in 11 windows, feature putting greens and mannequins wearing Paul Stewart clothing and using golf clubs to play such instruments as violins, cellos and drums. The presentation will appear through the first three weeks in July.
21st Century Marketing, Farmingdale, a direct marketing company, has formed an alliance with Spider Inc., an East Northport e-commerce firm.
SKC Advertising, Harrison, won 19 Big W awards from the Advertising Club of Westchester. The agency was honored in 15 categories for work done for the following clients: The Castle at Tarrytown, Kemwel Holiday Autos, The Scottish Tourist Board, Peter Deilmann Cruises and The Carlton Hotel.
Propaganda Films, a commercial production company with offices in New York and Hollywood, won the Palme d’Or for best worldwide production company at the International Advertising Festival in Cannes. Propaganda submitted 11 spots–including ads for Nike, Levi’s, Conseco and The Florida Tobacco Pilot Program–to earn the highest cumulative score, and took home a Gold Lion.
Los Angeles-based women’s jeans manufacturer Paris Blues has entered into an agreement with IMG Licensing, New York. IMG will represent the Paris Blues trademark for worldwide merchandise licensing and brand extension initiatives.
London-based WPP Group’s consultancy, Kantar, has partnered with Jochems, Ladendorf & Partners, Munich, a market research and management consultancy specializing in the airline industry. The new company, based in Munich, will be headed by Peter Jochems and Juergen Ladendorf.
Campbell’s has selected EastWest, Camden, to develop promotions and packaging for several product lines. Brand assignments include Campbell’s Healthy Request Soup, Campbell’s Home Cooking, Swanson’s Broths and V8 Splash. EastWest will also help the company launch new products.
The CJ Foundation for SIDS, a provider of funding for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome research and support, has retained The MWW Group, East Rutherford, to implement its first media relations program, secure corporate involvement and orchestrate SIDS-related conferences. A portion of the agency’s work on behalf of the Foundation will be pro bono.
Creative Marketing Alliance, Princeton Junction, took home five awards at the New Jersey Advertising Club’s 31st annual Jersey Awards. CMA was honored in the categories of special advertising insert/
supplement, for lighting fixture manufacturer Crescent-Stonco in Union; house magazine, newspaper or newsletter, for Bedminster-based satellite services company Loral Skynet; self-mailer, four-color, for Advance Transformer Co., a ballast manufacturer in Rosemont, Ill.; single spot television, for Princeton law firm PR&A; and invitation/announcement, for internal work.
Francine Lytle, vice president, marketing and strategic services at Gianettino & Meredith, will host a branding work-shop on July 22. “Understanding Critical Bridges Between the Consumer, the Brand and the Company” will take place at 8:45 a.m. at G&M’s office in Short Hills.
The Corporate Communications Group, Whippany, earned first-place honors at the New Jersey Awards of the New Jersey Advertising Club. The work was done on behalf of Radiologic Associates of Northern New Jersey.

Earle Palmer Brown, Philadelphia, took four honors at the District Two “Best of the East” American Advertising Awards. The agency’s 30-second spot for Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission won an Addy; ads for that client and the Reject FilmFest together received three certificates of excellence.
Schutte & Koerting in Bensalem has hired Timmons & Co., Doylestown, to handle several aspects of its internal and external marketing account. The agency will also develop a direct mail campaign targeting the client’s network of sales representatives, a news release program and a communications strategy combining corporate identity, Web site and media management. Schutte & Koerting designs and makes equipment for the petrochemical, food, paper and power industries.
Horsham-based international survey firm Taylor Nelson Sofres Intersearch has acquired Market Development in San Diego. With 1998 revenues of $7 million, Market Development is a market research firm specializing in Latin American and U.S. Hispanic markets. It will operate as a TNS Intersearch business under the direction of TNS president and chief executive Bruce Shandler.
Adam Bailine, president and creative director of Ultra Advertising in Ambler, has founded Ultra Groove, a record label owned by the agency. The label will allow Ultra Advertising to offer production, promotion, CD packaging and sales services to clients. Bailine wrote and performed all of the tracks on Ultra Groove’s first release, “Yeah, Whatever,” which features his band, Ramble.
Horsham-based LD & B Communications received four awards for work done on behalf of the University of Pennsylvania at the 16th annual Healthcare Advertising Awards.
Red Tettemer, Narberth, completed four 30-second spots for telecommunications company Comcast. The ads, featuring an animated TV remote, were produced by Blue Visual Effects in Philadelphia.
Sky Bank of Salineville, Ohio, has selected Blattner Brunner, Pittsburgh, to introduce its acquisition and renaming of First Western Bank of New Castle, Pa. The agency will develop TV, radio and print advertising to run in Eastern Ohio, Western Pennsylvania and Northern West Virginia.
