Wednesday Stir

By Kyle O'Brien

-JewBelong founder Archie Gottesman knows how to create eye-catching advertising. For over 20 years, she was the talent behind the iconic, tongue-in-cheek Manhattan Mini Storage billboards. These days she is using her talents to rebrand one of the oldest religions in the world—Judaism. Inspired by a rabbi who noted that Judaism is a great product that is poorly marketed, Gottesman took on the challenge by founding JewBelong, an online resource and education platform for Jews and allies. Gottesman created bold, clever and cheeky bright pink and white billboards and digital ads that encourage Jews—especially those who are disengaged—to take pride in and return to their faith, as well as educate allies who are interested in learning more about the Jewish faith. Gottesman is also using the billboards to call out antisemitism.
