Week of Nov. 13 Morning Show Ratings: GMA and Today Continue to Split First Place Honors, Lose Viewers From Prior Week

ABC’s Good Morning America and NBC’s Today show held steady as the most watched morning shows in total viewers and the advertiser-coveted demo of Adults 25-54, respectively, for the week of November 13, 2023.

While all three morning shows experienced week-to-week declines in total viewers, CBS Mornings managed to register week-to-week gains in the A25-54 demo.

According to live-plus-same-day data from Nielsen, GMA averaged 3.10 million total viewers and 605,000 viewers in the A25-54 demo for the week of Nov. 13. GMA’s performance when compared to the previous week was down in total viewers by -3 %, and was flat in the A25-54 demo.

Looking at the show’s performance relative to the same week in 2022, GMA was down in total viewers by -2% but saw a double-digit drop of -21% in the A25-54 demo, as ABC News continues to shed viewers under 55.

NBC’s Today, meanwhile, remained the top morning show in the A25-54 demo with 674,000 viewers, and the No. 2 morning show in total viewers with 2.76 million total viewers on average for the week of Nov. 13.

Looking at the show’s numbers from the previous week, Today was the only morning show to be down in both total viewers and A25-54 demo, dropping by -4% and -5%, respectively. Compared to the same week in 2022, Today’s total viewers and A25-54 numbers decreased by -10% and -16%, respectively.

CBS Mornings was in third place, averaging more than 2.25 million total viewers and 443,000 A25-54 viewers for the week of Nov. 13. Compared to the previous week, CBS Mornings was down in total viewers by -4%; however, it was the only morning show to see a week to week increase in the A25-54 demo, growing by +1%.

Looking at the same period in 2022, CBS Mornings dropped in total viewers and in A25-54 by -12% and -21%, respectively.
