Week of Nov. 14 Morning Show Ratings: Today Returns to No. 1 in A25-54 Demo; GMA Remains Tops in Total Viewers

It was a split at the top of the weekly morning show ratings race as ABC’s Good Morning America finished first place in total viewers, while NBC’s Today show was No. 1 in the adults 25-54 demo for the week of Nov 14.

Today managed to get back on top in the ad-friendly demo after ceding it to GMA a week prior. As a matter of fact, Today recorded its best showing in 10 weeks in Adults 25-54, with 804,000 viewers tuning in, while total viewership for Today reached a 36-week high – its best showing since March 7.

Meanwhile, GMA drew its largest overall audience in six months and achieved season highs in both total viewers and adults 25-54.

According to live-plus-same-day data from Nielsen, GMA averaged 3.38 million total viewers and 768,000 viewers in the A25-54 demo for the week of November 14. It was up by +3% in total viewers and by +4% in adults 25-54 when compared to the previous week.

Looking at GMA’s performance vs. the same week in 2021, the morning show saw declines in both total viewers and the adults 25-54 demo at -1% and -7%, respectively.

Today came in second in total viewers but was first in the adults 25-54 demo. Today averaged 3.07 million total viewers and 804,000 viewers in adults 25-54 for the week of November 14.

Compared to the previous week, Today was up +3% in total viewers and by +10% in the adults 25-54 demo, making it the biggest increase among the morning shows within that demo.

When looking at the numbers from the same week in 2021, the Today show was down -8% in total viewers and by -12% in adults 25-54.

CBS Mornings came in third place in both total viewers and adults 25-54. It was the only morning show to record declines in both total viewers and adults 25-54 when compared to the previous week. The good news for CBS, though, season to date, Mornings is up by +1% in adults 25-54.

For the week of November 14, it had 2.55 million total viewers and 570,000 viewers in the A25-54 demo. CBS Mornings was down by -1% in total viewers and -4% in the adults 25-54 demo when compared to the week of Nov. 7.

Looking at the same week in 2021, CBS Mornings is down -2% in total viewers but gained +3% in the adults 25-54 demo.
