Morning Show Ratings: Week of May 6

By A.J. Katz

The battle for last week’s morning show ratings title ended in a split decision. ABC’s Good Morning America averaged the largest total audience, while NBC’s Today show remained No. 1 among adults 25-54.

GMA hit a two-month high last week, both in total viewers (4.1 million) and in the key A25-54 demo (1.2 million). In addition to winning the week in total viewers, GMA is No. 1 morning show in total viewers for the 7th consecutive year and the sixth consecutive season.

Today show finished No. 1 among adults 25-54 for the 176th consecutive week, and once again gave GMA a run for its money in total viewers, losing by only 27,000. The NBC morning show actually won Monday, Wednesday and Thursday across the board. However, its losses among total viewers on Tuesday and Friday were too much to overcome.
