WEEK Names Jenise Rebholz Evening Anchor

By Kevin Eck

Jenise Rebholz started Monday as evening anchor for Peoria, Illinois NBC affiliate WEEK.

Rebholz has most recently been anchoring the 4, 5:30, and 6:30 newscasts, while also serving as breaking news reporter at 10 PM. Now, she co-anchors the 5, 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts, replacing Amber Krycka, who left the station in February.

“She has been with us for several years covering breaking news, anchoring, producing, investigative reporting and a long-time mentor for young journalists. We are proud to have her award-winning professionalism remaining in our newsroom,” said news director Leon Hendricks.

Rebholz has been with WEEK since 2016 and also owned her own business, selling clothes for young children and their families.

“She understands the viewers and the area, and the area understands her,” Hendricks told the Journal Star. “That makes her the most valuable asset we have here (with) her ability to understand the area and she’s from the area.”
