WAPT Names Cheryl Stroy Assistant News Director

Jackson, Mississippi ABC affiliate WAPT has named Cheryl Stroy assistant news director.

This is a move within Hearst for Stroy, who comes from WVTM in Birmingham, Alabama, where she was an executive producer for over three years. Before that, she held key positions in various markets, including Greenville, North Carolina, and Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

“Cheryl’s passion for news is contagious, and her track record of success speaks for itself,” says Lee Neely, WAPT news director. “I have no doubt that she will make a significant impact on our team, and her expertise will elevate our news coverage to new heights.
