Chuck Steinmetz Announces Retirement from WITI in Milwaukee; Fox Names Replacement

Chuck Steinmetz has announced his retirement after 27 years at Milwaukee’s Fox owned station WITI.

“We would like to thank Chuck for his dedication to Fox 6 and congratulate him on a seasoned career of consistent success,” said Jack Abernethy, chief executive officer of Fox Television Stations. “Over the past twenty years with FTS, Glenn has proven himself to be a valuable asset to the FTS sales team. He is a great example of the depth of our bench and promoting talented people from within our group. I know that his experience and drive will ensure the continued success of this important television station.”

Steinmetz has been with Fox 6 Milwaukee since 1996 and has been the svp and gm after his promotion from vp and general sales manager in 2001. Before joining WITI, he was national sales manager for KTVX in Salt Lake City and spent six years as an account executive and regional sales manager for KMSP, the Fox-owned station in Minneapolis. Steinmetz began his career as an account executive for WCGV Television in Milwaukee.

Fox Television stations also announced that Glenn Berk will succeed Steinmetz after his retirement in August.

“Over the last 36 years I have worked with some of the best and most talented people this industry has to offer,” said Steinmetz. “Many of them at WITI Fox6. My sincere thank you to everyone at the station who work so hard every day to make a difference. I couldn’t be more pleased to pass the baton to Glenn, who will continue the growth of Fox 6 and take the team to new heights.”

Berk has been with the Fox Television Stations for over twenty years. For the last nine years, he’s been the vp and general sales manager for the Fox-owned duopoly in Chicago, WFLD-WPWR. Before that, he was vp and gsm for WHBQ Fox 13 Memphis, when it was a Fox-owned station. He’s also worked as national sales manager for WTXF Fox 29 Philadelphia. Before that, he was an account executive for Fox Stations Sales in New York where he began as a sales trainee in 2002. He began his career as a program analyst for HRP in New York.

“I’m incredibly excited for the tremendous opportunity to lead such a talented team at WITI,” said Berk. “As a native Midwesterner, I understand what Milwaukeeans value and cannot wait to begin immersing myself in this community. I’m grateful for my time at WFLD which fully prepared me for such a perfect fit in Milwaukee.”
