Longtime KGW Anchor Laural Porter Tells Viewers She’ll Be Back On-Air in January

KGW anchor Laural Porter let viewers know why she’s been off the air recently.

Porter said she is taking advantage of Oregon’s new paid Family Leave Act to help take care of a loved one.

“I’ll be back in January,” she wrote on social media. “My thanks to KGW and the state of Oregon for making this opportunity possible. And thanks to our entire news team for all your support and your incredible talent. ‘You’re simply the best!’”

Porter joined the Portland NBC affiliate in 2000.
